Tour Schedule:
DAY ONE – Friday: Canberra to Cooma
We’ll begin our adventure with an early departure, giving everyone time to settle in and relax before the big weekend.
- Convoy Departure Point: Calwell Shopping Centre Car Park
- Departure Time: 12:15 PM sharp
You're welcome to meet us later in Cooma if you prefer to drive at your own pace.
Afternoon in Cooma:
- Shopping options include Birdsnest, The Kitchen Bench, and other boutique stores on the main street.
- Check-in to accommodation and prepare for a relaxing evening.
Dinner:
- Rose’s Lebanese Restaurant – a delicious banquet experience
- Cost: $45 per person

DAY TWO – Saturday: Cooma to Thredbo via Khancoban
Breakfast:
- Meet at 123 Cafe, Main Street, Cooma
Scenic Driving Tour Begins:
Our Cooma-based club members have put together an incredible driving route, including a stop at a Snowy Hydro site for a photo opportunity and short tour.
Group Dinner:
- Cascades Restaurant, Thredbo – a great way to unwind after an amazing day of driving

- ~320 km over 6 hours, including scenic stops
- A mix of sweeping corners, technical twisties, and elevation changes
- Roads through national parks, lakes, forests, and mountain passes

Cooma → Adaminaby
- Gentle curves and wide-open countryside

- Climbing into alpine forests

Cabramurra → Khancoban
- Technical downhill drive with stunning valley views
- Coffee and baked goods at Pickled Parrot Providore
Khancoban → Thredbo
- Epic stretch along the Alpine Way
- Hairpin bends, smooth tarmac, and spectacular views of Kosciuszko National Park
Important Reminders
- UHF Radio: Bring a fully charged radio (minimum 2W; 5W with external antenna recommended)
- Fuel Up in Cooma: Limited and expensive options in the high country
- Driving Etiquette: Maintain safe distances and visual contact with the car behind you
- National Parks Pass: Required for Thredbo

DAY THREE – Sunday: Explore & Return

Sunday is more relaxed and flexible. We’ll have optional activities in the area (to be revealed closer to the event), but one highlight is confirmed:
Wild Brumby Distillery Stop
- Enjoy schnapps, great food, coffee, and mountain views
- Stroll the grounds and enjoy the peaceful vibe (and the hard-working chickens!)
Return Drive:
Take the scenic route home at your own pace. Suggested path:
Berridale > Old Adaminaby (great photo stop) > Adaminaby (refreshments) > Cooma > ACT
