Join in for a drive to the Southern Highlands for lunch, followed by a drive to the stunning Kangaroo Valley!

We are excited to announce our first co-club social drive and lunch as we are teaming up with our BMWDC mates from NSW! This is a great opportunity to make new friends, see some new wheels, enjoy some fun roads, and grab a delicious pub lunch in Berrima.

Lunch venue: The Surveyor General Inn, 26 Old Hume Hwy, Berrima

This venue is the perfect place for a cozy lunch in the Southern Highlands as it was built in 1834. We've secured a function room that will comfortably sit our groups. Simply order what you like from the menu at the ordering counter, and purchase drinks on consumption from the bar.

    After lunch drive

After our delicious lunch, we will burn off some calories by driving from Berrima down into the stunning Kangaroo Valley. Once we arrive in the valley we will take some more photos of our group and the vehicles, before farewelling our new friends.

Important - Bring your winter woolies, it will be chilly at this time of year in the Southern Highlands!

    Important notes:

    1. The exact meet location for ACT members and time will be provided to registered attendees one week prior to the event.
    2. 5 watt CB radios are highly recommended for use, so drivers are aware of upcoming turns and potential hazards. The club will offer a few radios on the day for loan, however we recommend our regular attendees purchase their own.
    3. Cancellations can be made through the event via your login on the club website. This will allow someone who is on the waitlist to join us on the drive.

Looking forward to see you there!

We are excited to announce our 2nd driver training session for the year: The Skidpan at Sutton Road Driver Training Complex, Sunday 21 July 2024.

For those that aren't familiar, the skidpan is a slippery circuit that replicates driving on snow/ice or hitting a patch of oil. It's smooth concrete, water is applied to provide the slide..... Vehicle speeds are less than 50 km/h and as the circuit is so slippery, there is very little wear on tyres and very low risk. The fun factor is extreme as you attempt to control your car with little or no traction!

The Skidpan will help you to better understand your vehicle and car control in general, including what to do when there is understeer or oversteer.

This is a great learning event for everyone.  We strongly encourage new drivers to come and learn more about their vehicle and for experienced drivers to refresh their skills and of course, have fun! Skills learnt on the skidpan are invaluable and can save lives.

    Some important things to note:

    • No burnouts or black marks to be left on the skid pan
    • Suitable clothing and appropriate footwear (no thongs, open-toed shoes, or high heels).
    • There are noise limits…..Vehicles must not exceed a noise limit of 85db at 30 meters. Any road registered vehicle *should* be less than this.
    • Participants are solely responsible for any property damages.
    • There will be more experienced members there to help out. If you would like some assistance please come see us after the briefing.

If you would like to take passengers you are more than welcome to.

There will be light refreshments and tea/coffee facilities as well. We recommend bringing lunch with you however, if you need to buy lunch Queanbeyan is only a few minutes drive away....

*Drivers briefing will be at 8:15am sharp. The fun begins at 8:30*.

NOTE: We've put together special pricing for everyone. $120 ($140 for non-members) is per vehicle with multiple drivers allowed, for the ENTIRE day. Places are limited, register early to avoid disappointment!

We are looking forward to seeing you there and most of all have FUN!

    Yes, it's happening!

One Raceway (aka Wakefield Park) is coming to life. Whilst we don't have confirmation of the exact date that the track will re-open, we have been assured this date is safe and has been allocated for us!

Whilst we get the finer details worked out with One Raceway, we would like to gauge interest in attending.

The level of investment has necessitated a significant increase in the cost of hiring the track.

We expect entry costs per driver to be $350. This does not include your Motorsport licence (Day licence or annual options available) or timing equipment (~$30).

We will be running solely in the traditional clockwise direction for our return to the track.

Please register to confirm your interest. There is no payment required, nor does it mean you are guaranteed a spot. An official event with additional registration requirements will be announced once we have confirmed all details for the day.

The year 1985 was a special one for some.

For a select group of Ken-Behrens, this marked to the formation of the BMW Car Club ACT. From humble beginnings we have grown into a bigger group of enthusiasts and broadened the scope of what we as a collective can achieve.

    40th Anniversary Celebrations

Whilst this is still a little over 3 years away, it will be an EPIC celebration that will need some serious planning. We are inviting you to be part of it and welcome any suggestions.

Dates are not set in stone, merely a placeholder to get the ball rolling.

There will be local celebrations however, we intend to put together an itinerary for the trip of a lifetime to Munich, the birthplace of BMW.

Some of the not to be missed activities:

    - BMW Welt

    - BMW Museum

    - BMW Group Classic

    - Tour of BMW Classic Museum

There's plenty more to see and do in Germany and we intend to make the most of such an amazing trip. Some ideas so far:

    - Munich tours

    - Neuschwanstein Castle

    - Track time at Nurburgring - Think: The BMW M Nordschleife experience or similar

    - Hockenheimring tour

    - Autobahn drives

    - Visit to the Augustiner-Bräu brewery in Munich. Established in 1328, it is Munich's oldest independent brewery.

    - Zugspitze

    - Porsche and Mercedes Museum tours

If any of this interests you, please register your interest.
